About Oso Productions

Oso Productions was born from a shared passion for storytelling, theatre, and community. In 2020, after relocating to the mountain village of Ruidoso, New Mexico, two theatre-loving couples found each other and a common dream: to create live theatre that brings people together under the stars and into the heart of the local community.

With backgrounds in theatre from Dallas-Fort Worth Van Williams, Gray, and Sydnee Mowery had long been immersed in performance and production and always dreamed of creating a theatre. Soon after arriving in Ruidoso, Gray and Sydnee met fellow performers and partners, Reni and Scott Fitzgibbon, whose rich experience in opera and musical theatre in Albuquerque added new dimensions to our creative circle. Together, we founded Oso Productions, driven by a vision to bring accessible, engaging, and high-quality theatre to the mountains of southern New Mexico.

In dreaming up the Lincoln Forest Renaissance Faire, we crossed paths with Tim and Ashley Roberts, owners of Bonito Valley Brewing Company. Tim’s background as a historian and Ashley’s expertise in marketing and event planning completed the team.

Our first theatrical production, Greater Tuna, premiered in July 2022 in the park, setting the stage (literally!) for what would become our signature immersive, and joyfully unpredictable theatre. Since then, we’ve brought a variety of performances to life, including The Pirates of Penzance, Clue, and our annual shadow cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

In addition to our mainstage productions, we also produce Lincoln After Dark, a live historical ghost tour that brings the legends and spirits of historic Lincoln, NM to life.

In Loving Memory of Scott Fitzgibbon

In June 2024, just after the success of our first Lincoln Forest Renaissance Faire, we experienced an unimaginable loss: our founding member and dear friend, Scott Fitzgibbon, was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Scott was the heart of Oso, a true Renaissance Man whose creativity, warmth, and generosity inspired everyone he met. He was not only a brilliant performer and musician, but also a compassionate teacher, an active community member, and a treasured friend.

To honor his legacy, Oso Productions has established the Scott Fitzgibbon Fine Arts Grant, which supports Lincoln County students in pursuing their academic and artistic dreams. Scott’s spirit continues to live on in every note of music, every line spoken on stage, and in the laughter and learning he helped create.
